A citadel

Rising tall before

All humanity

Obscuring its habitant

Protectively guarding

With brick walls of blood red

The color of the hermit’s fiery passion

Too bright for the mortal world

Ethereal, easy to burn out

So citadel, high, mighty, godly fortress

Shield lonely genius from the ever raging mockery that citizens come flocking with should ephemeral loveliness crack as expected

Catch its falling pieces or hold it together

House this precious gem forever
